Altum are pleased to partner with a UK wide Retail business to find them a Payroll Lead based in North Yorkshire. The company has recently become Private Equity backed and going through a period of huge growth. They are looking for a Payroll specialist whoknows the payroll processes inside and out to play an integral role in their future growth.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Heading up or leading Payroll within an organisation
- Enough commercial experience to understand the output of payroll into finance and chart of accounts. Operating in England, Scotland, NI etc.
- Reconciling payroll data and carrying out rigorous checks to ensure the highest standards of pay data quality.
- Working with HR to ensure that employee payroll data is correct and setup in time for cut off
- Responsible for ensuring that tax and social security is correctly calculated and paid over to the authorities.

**Key Skills**

Ability to work under pressure and keep high levels of accuracy
- Experience working in and running a large payroll
- Management experience of teams of 4 or larger
- Knowledge of UK payroll legislation (such as PAYE, NIC, P60, P11d, P45, statutory payments) is preferable
- Experience of working with third party payroll vendors
- Good communication skills and Commerical experience
- Previous experience with Workday is not required but would be beneficial
- Experience previously reconciling a Payroll process within the business
