Marketing Manager

Our client is an market-leading technical manufacturing business who are looking to hire a Marketing Manager to help drive further growth.

This is a great opportunity to lead the marketing activities of the company, building on decades of outstanding performance in their markets.

You will develop and drive key growth strategies to exploit the full potential of new and existing markets and business sectors.

Key responsibilities and accountabilities:

- Define and deliver the company’s marketing strategies, both digital and offline, in order to enhance the strength, identity and global reach of our brands, creating an environment in which we generate new leads and capture new customers.
- At all times, maximise the potential of the company for growth.
- Lead marketing and promotional campaigns in line with sales objectives and business strategy
- Plan/carry out/support marketing activities to agreed budgets, sales volumes, values, product mix and timescales.
- Evaluate market research, customer and competitor conditions making appropriate recommendations to management
- Devise and lead all digital marketing activity
- Manage any external marketing agency activities
- Create a wide range of marketing materials as required to fulfil promotional activities
- Devise strategies to drive potential customers to the company website
- Develop and oversee social media strategies for the company that engage with customers and prospects
- Monitor and report on website performance and drive a process of continual improvement, through SEO, appropriate content, keywords, backlinks, etc.
- Maintain effective internal communications to ensure that all relevant company functions are kept informed of marketing objectives and activities
- Monitor and report on the effectiveness of the marketing communications and provide relevant management information
- Monitor social media for customer comments both positive and negative, report or act on as appropriate
- Monitor and report on market and competitor activities and provide relevant reports and information.
- Liaise and attend meetings with other company functions necessary to perform duties and aid business and organisational development.
- Record, analyse, report and administer according to our internal management systems and requirements.
- Adhere to health and safety policy, and other requirements relating to care of people, facilities and equipment.

Personal Situation: Able to spend time away without upsetting the domestic situation. Able to commute reliably to office base. Able to work extended hours on occasions when required

Specific Job Skills: Able to write both technical and editorial copy. Understands the principles of marketing and advertising cost-effectiveness, including market sector targeting, product offer development, features-benefits-solutions selling, cost perconversion, etc. Appreciates need for consistency within company's branding and marketing mix. Experience of managing external marketing agency activities.

Business Skills: Must be an excellent face-to-face and telephone communicator. Able to demonstrate success and experience leading marketing activities. Ideal background would be in industrial product marketing. The ability to interpret technical data wouldbe ideal.

Management Ability: Able to demonstrate the ability to lead and inspire others. Understanding of what constitutes an effective team. The ability to develop job descriptions, profiles and recruit personnel is not critical, but may be useful.
