We have a fantastic opportunity for a Head of PMO to join our Optronics and Missile Electronics (OME) UK team in Reading, Berkshire.

**Key responsibilities**:

- Being accountable for the delivery of an effective and response PMO service to the project management and operations management teams.
- Being accountable for governance, deployment & reporting of Project controls and Risk & Opportunity Management.
- Being responsible for the independent PMO assurance review and reporting process.
- Ensuring that effective assessment of risk and contingency is being applied.
- Ensuring the effective use of ‘lessons learned’ as part of a continuous improvement culture.
- Ensuring the production of the routine project reports.
- Supporting the project contract review.
- Management of the PMO team.
- Ensuring appropriate Project Governance.
- Ensuring the implementation of effective Integrated Business Planning.
- Ensuring all Project activities undertaken comply with the relevant Thales Chorus processes.
- The role will also involve occasional ad-hoc duties that are not listed above but are necessary to respond to the needs of the business. These ad-hoc duties will be consistent with the nature of a [CBU] Head of Planning & Control position within Thales.

**About you**:

- In depth understanding of Project Management processes and their business benefits in contexts relevant to Thales (Defence / O&G / utilities sectors)
- Demonstrable expertise in the effective deployment of a PMO service
- Practical and applicable management skills in order to deliver an effective service through the PMO team’s capabilities.
- The ability to provide accurate and up to date PMO-related information to decision-makers in the Operations Management and Bid and Project Management Teams.
- Strong stakeholder management capabilities to work across the boundaries with the B&PM job family and across other functions.
- Ability to establish and meet deadlines, multi-task and prioritise.
- Excellent communicator
- Strong planning and delivery orientation
- Commercial / financial / business acumen
