Mercer Sentinel’s Transition Coordination team are specialists dedicated to helping clients plan and implement asset transfers, such as those that arise from changes in investment strategy or investment manager. The Transition Coordination team acts as the primary contact between all parties involved for the entire transition and take responsibility from the planning stage right through to completion. The team is responsible for implementing all asset transitions (e.g. DB, DC, Risk Transfer, Insurance, Drawdowns and Property) undertaken by Mercer on behalf of clients.

**What can you expect**:

- You will act as a lead Transition Coordinator and be responsible for the transition projects assigned to you from planning through to completion
- Working with asset managers to obtain information on trading processes and dealing requirements
- Devising the most suitable transition strategy for a client, minimising out-of-market exposure and operational risks for the transition, and costs, where possible
- Working to tight deadlines and within budgets
- Drafting and agreeing instruction documentation and transition timelines with the various parties involved
- Implementing and monitoring transitions, which involves issuing trade instructions on behalf of clients
- Pre-transfer and post-transfer reporting
- Acting as central point of contact for projects and being on-hand to deal with routine queries for key stakeholders (Mercer consulting team, the investment managers, custodians, administrators)
- Working as part of a team and reviewing team members’ work
- Mentoring junior members of the team
- Contributing to intellectual capital and development of the team, including process improvements
- Managing and developing relationships with investment managers, custodians and administrators

**We will count on you to**:

- Work under pressure, maintaining accuracy and being conscious of (and minimising) the risks involved when planning and implementing transfers
- Be flexible due to changing priorities and manage your time well in order to have several projects on the go at various different stages of the transition process
- Develop and drive process improvement initiatives to improve quality and efficiency, reducing operational risk
- Develop and maintain effective working relationships with all key stakeholders
- Ensure that incoming work is handled effectively, promptly and accurately so that the needs of the client are consistently met and exceeded
- Adhere to the appropriate risk controls and procedures in place
- Be a team player and get involved with checking and reviewing colleagues’ work, challenging the transition plan and methodologies as required

**What you need to have**:

- Good experience within asset management, custody or investment consulting. Previous knowledge and experience of client transfers, with a good grasp of the transition process including trade processes for securities, foreign exchange and derivatives would be a beneficial but not essential
- Effective time management skills with the ability to work on multiple tasks simultaneously and prioritising tasks due to shifting priorities, fluctuating workloads and deadline pressures
- Proven track record in project management with adherence to both time and budgetary constraints, while managing and meeting clients' demands and expectations and keeping others informed and up-to-date
- Ability to produce high quality work, which is consistently accurate and the ability to work well under pressure
- Strong risk focus with a keen awareness of risks involved in transferring assets
- Confidence with good communication and presentation skills
- Strong numerical capability, with the ability to demonstrate a sound mathematical background
- Excellent analytical and problem solving skills and an eagerness to learn
- The ability to build working relationships to influence and persuade at senior level and within the team
- University level education or equivalent required
