Taskmaster Resources Ltd in Huddersfield are looking for an experienced Digital Communications Officer for 10 months work with Wakefield Council. Hybrid working, full time hours, Mon-Fri 9am-5:30pm

**Overall Purpose of the Post**:
In association with the Digital Communications Manager, to lead, manage, and actively contribute to the continuous improvement of the Communications Service through the development and delivery of a well designed digital strategy that contributes to theCouncil’s communications campaigns and wider information provision.

Working with officers, managers, web team and communications colleagues, to play a leading role in the design, development and implementation of a web, intranet and social media strategy that helps deliver Wakefield Council’s key priorities.

Ensure that the council’s digital channels meet the needs of customers and staff by planning and delivering content that is designed to deliver high audience engagement and meets the needs of customers and staff.

Effectively manage the council’s social media channels, ensuring that content is delivered to a high standard using a mix of techniques, including video, graphics, imagery and words

Ensure all digital content has a consistent tone of voice in line with the Council’s values.

**Key Outcomes/ Activities**

- Take responsibility for specific projects or ongoing areas of work within the Communications Service, including the planning and delivery of the Council’s communications campaigns.
2. To play a leading role in devising and managing the review of all systems and procedures relating to internal and external web functions.

3. To contribute to raising the profile of Wakefield Council by enhancing our web reputation and social media identity.

4. To work as part of the Communications Team in the creation and design, development, and day-to-day management of the Council’s website, intranet and social media channels.

5. Management and co-ordination of the website and intranet including general oversight and approval of content, ensuring consistency/adherence to corporate brand standards and style guidelines.

6. To lead and develop ways of working to improve the effectiveness of communications in the Council, including the use of social media and video.

5. To create, design, develop and implement strategic website content, including video, written and image.

7. Develop, manage, and deliver high quality web and intranet services, specific projects and annual work programmes to continually develop the website in accordance with organisational priorities, Communication Service priorities and accessibility criteriaWCAG 2.1.

8. Manage, maintain and develop video content for use on website, social media and intranet.

9. Management and delivery of an ongoing quarterly formal programme of specific web and social media training to web authors, coordinators, and other colleagues throughout the Council. In addition bespoke training on these platforms will also be providedto some colleagues as required.

10. To deputise for the Digital Communications Manager as appropriate.

11. To champion high quality, best practice and value for money communications throughout the Council.
