**1:1 Primary Teaching Assistant**

**Summary**
A warm and inclusive mainstream primary school is seeking a committed 1:1 Primary Teaching Assistant to support a pupil with SEND needs to start immediately. This part-time role offers long-term stability, consistent hours, and the chance to build a meaningful, lasting relationship with a child who needs you.

**The Role**
This is a dedicated 1:1 role supporting a pupil across the full school day. You’ll work closely with teaching staff and the SENCO to ensure the pupil feels safe, understood, and able to access learning. Key responsibilities include:

- Supporting emotional regulation using strategies such as Zones of Regulation, sensory tools, and visual timetables
- Breaking down tasks and adapting learning to meet individual needs
- Following a consistent, child-centred behaviour plan
- Creating a predictable and calm environment that promotes trust and routine
- Being a reliable, empathetic presence throughout the day

**Who You Are**
You’re someone who believes that consistency, compassion, and connection are key to helping children with additional needs succeed. You bring:

- A recognised Level 2 or above qualification in Teaching Assistance, Childcare, or Early Years
- Experience working with pupils with SEMH and SEND in a school setting
- Strong behaviour support and emotional regulation strategies
- A calm, patient approach with the ability to build trust over time
- A reflective mindset and commitment to inclusive education

**The School**
This nurturing primary school is known for its trauma-informed approach and commitment to emotional wellbeing. Staff work collaboratively to ensure every child feels seen, safe and supported. As part of the SEN support team, you’ll be well-supported and encouraged to bring your own insight and experience to the role.

**Working Hours**
- Monday to Friday, 8.30am to 3.30pm
- Part-time and full-time considered
- Term time only
- Consistent weekly timetable
