**Gardener position**

An opportunity to work alongside a highly respected Head gardener in a private property near Henley-on-Thames is presented

The property encompasses open parkland, orchards, extensive vegetable production, herbaceous planting and ponds. Formal hedge trimming and tree pruning is also part of the remit.

The new Gardener will work together with the Head gardener to build and improve a stunning private garden designed by former Chelsea Gold medallists. Self-starting is a requisite along with the ability and desire to use initiative and also to improve on existing skills. Investment in training will be provided. Supervision will be provided but the ability to work alone is a requirement. Duties will include mowing, general gardening, weeding, digging, glasshouse production (including citrus and soft fruits),vegetable and polytunnel production and cut flowers. Bees are also in residence so any apiary skills would be of interest.

Applicants should be physically fit as the position will be physically demanding and should also have good plant knowledge. Training will be provided for spraying and first aid if required but familiarity with all types of garden machinery would be an advantage.

A genuine desire to improve on existing skills, good horticultural knowledge a cheerful disposition and a can-do attitude are all important aspects of the successful applicants make up.

Starting salary £25,000

Holiday allowance 20 days per annum plus all bank holidays.
