**Family Support Worker - Inverness**

£25,235 FTE (pro rata) per annum

Part Time: 20 hours per week

Based in our Inverness office - Kintail House

**Job Vacancy: June 2025**

Home-Start is a voluntary organisation committed to promoting the welfare of families with at least one child aged 5 years or under, through recruiting and training volunteers to provide family support.

**Part Time Family Support Worker.**

The purpose of the job is to provide support so that parents can achieve the following: strengthen parent/infant relationships, reduce isolation, encourage good parenting skills, help families access the wider community, help improve the physical and emotional health & wellbeing of parents and children.

Ultimately employed by our Board of Trustees, the Family Support Worker will report to a designated line manager.

**Essential Criteria**:

- Previous experience in working with parents and young children.
- An ability to be empathetic and supportive whilst encouraging parents to meet the needs of their children.
- To work with individual families through home visits providing appropriate support as directed by the co-ordinators.
- To carry out a planned/timed piece of work with each family. This will involve encouraging and supporting parents in several specific parenting tasks such as behaviour management, bedtime or mealtime routines, household management, budgeting, nutrition and bonding and attachment.
- Support parents to reduce isolation by linking with their local community and to access services suited to their needs.
- Transporting parents to services such as GP/Hospital appointments
- Use of own car and a clean driving license.

Pay: £25,235.00 per year

Expected hours: 20 per week
