**Client Details**

Michael Page are working alongside a central government body whose overall role is to support the defence sector across 13 different sites across the Midlands.

In the public sector estates team, which operates over 400 buildings across 170 sites ranging from large city centre multi-use Reserve sites to single cadet huts in rural locations, all spread across 6 counties. Providing complete maintenance, facilitiesmanagement and estate development service to military reserve and cadet customers that occupy and administer these individual locations.

**Description**

Working for the Head of Estates, the Safe Estate Compliance Manager will be responsible for ensuring a safe estate, helping to comply with legislation's. You will implement and contribute to the continuous improvement of the health, safety and environmentalmanagement system (SEMS) in line with MOD standards, assuring it is applied effectively throughout the 6 counties.

**Principal Areas of Responsibility**
- Responsible for ensuring that the systems and procedures are in place and are being followed in order
- Responsible for providing professional health and safety and environmental advice in order to drive a positive safety culture. This responsibility includes conducting health, safety and environmental audits
- Responsible for the Health Safety and Environmental Protection Committee, to provide assurance to the management Board that HS&EP responsibilities are being met. This includes holding quarterly meetings to review the following Safe Places, Safe Processes,Safe People across the Estate.

**Profile**
- Essential certificates in the following - NEBOSH & NCRQ Certificate (or equivalent qualification)
- Experience of developing and implementing health & safety management systems in the hard facilities management sector.
- Experience in health & safety and environmental risk management
- **Desirable**:

- Level 6 or above occupational health and safety qualification (NEBOSH or NCRQ Diploma)
- Membership of a building related professional body (e.g., IWFM, CIBSE, CIOB or RICS).

**Job Offer**
