I am seeking a commercially minded finance professional to work as a Credit Controller - maternity cover for a period of 12 months, this could become a longer term role for the right person.

This role could suit someone with some accounts/ finance knowledge looking at getting into credit control, or someone who already have proven track record in credit control.

**Client Details**

My client is a well established distribution company based in Weybridge. They have very good relationships and are established in their field. Due to a period of leave they require someone to join their business on a 12 month maternity cover basis, howevercould become a longer term role for the right person.

**Description**

The role of Credit Controller - maternity cover will involve:

- To maintain all customer credit limits
- Ensure yearly financial review is logged and maintained
- Collection of debts within assigned credit terms and achievement of individual & department targets and the keeping of meticulous records & review dates via a customer diary system
- Listening to the financial issues of customers and making sound commercial arrangements for payment plans
- Reconciliation of monies received
- To record and manage all customer queries and disputed invoices.
- To ensure customer database is accurate and up to date along with the filing and maintenance of relevant associated filing.
- To refer accounts, where appropriate for litigation
- To ensure maximum efficiency of the Aged Debt by liaising with local branches, including a monthly meeting with each Business Manager via telephone or face to face
- To visit customers where necessary

**Profile**

This is a very commercial credit specialist role and involves a lot more than just cash collection. To be considered for the: Credit Controller - maternity cover you will:

- Be commercially minded and able to interact with a variety of stakeholders
- Able to negotiate payment plans and come up with solutions for customers
- Strong systems skills including Excel
- Be able to commute to Weybridge on a daily basis
- Understanding of boo keeping - debits and credit
- Able to work to deadlines and in a results driven environment
