Civil Engineering Operatives

XYZ Rail have an exciting opportunity for Civil Engineering Operatives to join their team. Location: Glasgow **Salary**: Competitive About Us: We deliver design, construction, maintenance, and enhancement projects for both the rail and non-rail sectors, offering complete packages encompassing buildings and civils, structures, earthworks & geotechnical, lineside infrastructure, vegetation clearance, fencing, drainage and permanent way works. We manage specialist industrial and commercial schemes such as multi-model distribution warehousing, office buildings, rail to road transport interchange depots and maintenance facilities. We also deliver groundworks and civils and install all types of pavement including "ALL Weather" surfacing for racetracks, aircraft stands and aprons, wood storage facilities, lorry parks etc. We have a specialist fleet of Rail and Civils Plant and Equipment which as well as servicing our contracts and is available for External Hire. We provide Logistics and Storage (Including Major Incident Response) 24hr service individually bespoke for clients' needs and requirements. Civil Engineering Operatives - The Role: You will provide in-house quality workmanship for a range of civil engineering disciplines such as drainage, concrete works and earthworks. You will also provide assistance to our fabricator and painting teams and have the opportunity to develop skills in these areas. We will provide training and mentoring in specialist plant operation, rail and civils plant safety as well as rail Safety Critical roles. Site works will involve the prep and painting of structural steelwork, whilst depot works will involve prep and painting of fabricated materials and plant items. - Contribute to the continuous improvement of safety and re-enforce safety culture within the maintenance working environment - Be pro-active in safety improvements and suggestions - Continuous improvement of team operations and share new ideas to improve both individual and team skills - Promote and ensure that BBS (Behavioural Based Safety) practices are used Civil Engineering Operatives - You: - Previous experience in civil engineering works - An up-to-date PTS/ Sentinel card an advantage but training can be provided - Good standard of reading and writing (able to read lift plans, safety signage, correctly complete logbooks, and associated paperwork) - Good geographical skills - High standard of work, reliable, punctual, with a positive attitude - Full UK driving licence is essential What to expect: You can expect a competitive hourly rate with great earnings potential and a package that includes a great pension scheme, 28 days' annual leave, access to an Employee Assistance Programme Our Core Values, known as the "Three C's: Creative; Considerate and Collaborative" define who we are, how we do business, how we treat our people, clients and stakeholders and the beliefs by which we will guide our actions, set direction, and plan for our future every day.
