Avanti Recruitment is currently working exclusively with a privately funded academic research lab (Not for profit) to recruit a highly intelligent Java full stack Developer. The organisation do some incredibly interesting research. This is an outstandingopportunity for someone who has an interest in bioinformatics, DNA sequencing, immunology, molecular biology and researching cures for cancer and other diseases.

They are working on multiple projects at the moment one of which is to do with the research of Covid19**.**

You will be joining a small team with 2 other developers, 1 senior and 1 graduate. You will be working on manipulating huge genome text files, (working with huge amounts of data around **DNA sequencing**) coding all the way through to hosting and running the cloud. It's a unique role which could be very rewarding for the right person.

The company are happy to help you develop your career and will put you on training courses not only in bioinformatics but they will also pay for training courses/accreditations and if there is any technologies you want to learn which would be helpful tothe research.
**The Companies Tech stack includes Java, Kotlin, React, Gatsby.js, Spring, AWS, S3, CloudFront, DynamoDB, GraphQL, AppSync, Cognito.**

**Responsibilities**:

- Working with cloud AWS

**Requirements**:

- 2:1 degree or above in Computer science
- Experience with Java and React
- Able to work in an agile way, extending existing code to meet new requirements as experiments progress.
- Able to work effectively as a solo developer when required

**Desired**:

- 1-3 years commercial Java experience would be highly advantageous
- Experience with AWS - Amplify, S3, AppSync, Lambda, etc.
- Multithreading experience
- Experience with **JavaScript**, preferably **React.**:

- Background in bioinformatics.
- Bash scripting.

This is a permanent position working 37.5 hour week, with flexible start time and 3:30 finish on a Friday.

The salary on offer for this position is up to £50,000 + Bonus + Pension Scheme + Private Medical Insurance and Life assurance + 25 days holiday (plus bank holiday)
