Northampton, United Kingdom Nationwide Full time

As our name suggests, here in Digital Innovation, we’re a team building innovative products within the Mobile Banking App via a ‘More’ section - named the Digital Hub. We want to lead the way to a quicker and more competitive Nationwide, embracing new technology to meet member needs rapidly.

Now that we’ve launched our Proof of Concept, we’re busy developing the technical capability and product features that will enable new product increments, release value and maximise learning.

At Nationwide we offer hybrid working wherever possible. More rewarding relationships are supported through our hybrid approach, bringing colleagues together across our UK wide estate, whilst also supporting generous access to home working. We value our time in the office to solve problems, to learn, and to feel connected.

**If based from our Swindon or Northampton offices there is a need to attend our London, Threadneedle Street office once a week for collaboration.**

**What you’ll be doing**:
As our Product Owner, you’ll be responsible for developing features in to the Digital Hub, available for all our Mobile Banking App users.
- Working closely with our Chief Product Owner, Designers, Researchers and Engineers, you’ll set a vision for the evolution of your roadmap, ensuring this aligns to the overall Digital hub vision.
- Consider different approaches and solutions and summarise key considerations associated with these options (e.g. third party solutions or build in house)
- Maintain your Feature Team Product backlog, including developing user stories and epics and prioritising based on value
- Partner with design, product engineer and delivery teams to ensure deliverables are defined properly with appropriate acceptance criteria to ensure final products are of the right quality
- Work in a fast-paced environment, where priorities change frequently
- Work with key stakeholders and wider feature teams to manage dependencies and refine ways of working based on teama and user feedback

**About you**:
You are highly self-motivated, innovative and challenging with a strong passion to deliver exceptional results.

As a minimum requirement you will:

- Have strong agile product delivery experience, using various methodologies (e.g. Scrum, Kanban) with experience of Product Ownership, or Project Manager role, working with Scrum teams or in an Agile environment
- Be able to lead a team of technical experts, planning the evolution and roadmap for technical capability
- Be able to take a strategic roadmap and translate into a roadmap of technical features, whilst also being proactive in identifying improvements you can make to the product and the backlog and developing greenfield solutions
- Have proven your ability to own, prioritise and communicate the Product Backlog in clear and simple terms to the Scrum team and key stakeholders
- Be confident in translating feature documentation into user stories for refinement with the engineering build team
- Be able to identify dependencies between technical and product features and proactively manage these dependencies
- **Say it straight** - This is about being honest and direct with good intent and saying what needs to be said in the room. It’s also about being clear, precise, and using language that we and, importantly, our customers and members can understand.
- **Push for better** - This is about aiming high and constantly looking for better in how we work together and serve our customers and members.
- **Get it done** - This is about prioritising what will have the greatest impact, being decisive and taking accountability for delivering on the end-to-end outcome.

**The extras you’ll get**:
There are all sorts of employee benefits available at Nationwide, including:

- A personal pension - if you put in 7% of your salary, we’ll top up by a further 16%
- Up to 2 days of paid volunteering a year
- Life assurance worth 8x your salary
- A great selection of additional benefits through our salary sacrifice scheme
- Wellhub - Access to a range of free and paid options for health and wellness.
- Access to an annual performance related bonus
- Access to training to help you develop and progress your career
- 25 days holiday, pro rata

**What makes us different**:
Nationwide is the world’s largest building society. With over 15 million customers, we have a relationship with almost a quarter of the UK’s population. We’ve got the scale to compete with the big banks, _but we’re not a bank. _

As a building society, we’re owned by our members - that’s our customers who have their current account, mortgage or savings with us. It means we can do things differently to deliver our Purpose - _Banking - but fairer, more rewarding, and for the good of society. _

When you work at Nationwide, you can experience that difference for yourself. You’ll be part of a high-performing, purpose-driven organisation that offers rewarding career experiences and a highly competitive r
