We are looking to recruit someone to join an experienced team of professionals supporting Children, young people and their families across Calderdale.

Embedded within the larger Specialist Inclusion Teams, we work with other professionals, children and young people and families to identify and develop a co-ordinated pathway and inclusive approach to SEND, providing specific advice and direct support, at home and in settings across the borough.
- Work closely with Teachers of the Deaf (ToD) to support the individual learning needs of children aged 0-25 with hearing loss.
- Implement individualised learning plans developed by ToDs, to the specific needs of each child, whether learning at home or in a setting.
- Support children’s personal development and work collaboratively to support emotional and social well-being.
- Encourage children to self-advocate and develop life skills, fostering independence and confidence.
- Assist children with their hearing technology and support their understanding of their hearing loss and needs.
- Support the development of inclusive total communication learning environments.
- Experience working with / an awareness of the needs of children or young people with hearing impairment
Basic understanding of the impact of hearing loss and deaf awareness strategies.
- Knowledge of SEND practices and a commitment to supporting students' academic, social, and emotional development.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to build positive and collaborative relationships with children, families, educational settings and colleagues.
- Patience, empathy, and resilience to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
- BSL Level 1 minimum
