Croydon, United Kingdom BE Inspired Youth & Community CIC Full time

**OUR VISION**:
To ignite and strengthen hope and opportunities in young people.

**OUR MISSION**:
Formerly known as Gloves Not Gunz and Urban Yogis UK, our mission is to give young people the drive and agency to make positive life choices through our diverse range of services. All whilst working with the community to tackle key issues such as serious youth crime.

**NEED**:
The rise of serious youth violence in Greater London and across the UK has become a pressing societal issue, with statistics reflecting a concerning trend. This increase is leaving a lasting impact on individuals, their families, and communities.

According to recent data, youth violence in London rose by 7% in 2023, with a significant number of victims being under the age of 25. A 2023 report into youth violence noted that 25% of teenage children living in London said they have been a victim of violence and 26% admitted they had inflicted violence on others in the past year. Concerningly, the number of girls who have been victims or involved in violence has increased significantly.

This surge in violence not only threatens the safety of young individuals, but also contributes to a cycle of trauma, affecting their mental health, educational opportunities, and overall well being.

Be Inspired is a pioneering force in tackling the surge of serious youth violence in London and is guided by its three core values: empower, excel, and enrich. The values underpin the organisation’s systematic, trauma-informed approach to address the root cause of youth violence.

Through empowerment initiatives like therapies and mentoring, Be Inspired equips young individuals with the resilience and skills needed to overcome adversity. The value of excelling is evident in the organisation's commitment to comprehensive programmes that go beyond immediate interventions, fostering long-term personal growth and positive life choices.

By providing community programmes and employment opportunities, Be Inspired enriches the lives of individuals and the communities it serves, embodying its values and contributing to a safer and more prosperous future.
