It's an exciting time at** Widmore Road**, as we have an opening for a **Deputy Care Home Manager** to join the team. This is a permanent position working 38 hours a week.

A fantastic opportunity for an individual looking to join a supportive encouraging organisation. **Widmore Road **are looking for a **Deputy Care home Manager**, who will make a difference in our service users lives and, in return have access to opportunities for learning and development in a supportive team environment.

**Our Deputy Care Home Manager duties will consist of:
- To be responsible for monitoring the staff rota, ensuring that annual leave, training, and sickness cover is provided in the most cost-effective way.
- To work in a care capacity for at least one shift per week to maintain a highly visible care presence and thus act as a role model by demonstrating expert care practice.
- The post holder will ensure that all staff receives regular supervision, are annually appraised, and provided with a personal development plan.
- To be responsible for making sure that when people move into the service an appropriate Person-Centred Plan is completed and a key worker allocated in partnership with the person using the service.
- To ensure that the Service implements a social activity programme, which will be appropriate to people’s needs and reflect their recorded preferences and aspirations.
- To ensure that infection control standards are maintained.
- To maintain good communication with Pharmacist and local GP Practices.
- There would be an expectation for the post holder to provide cover at night in exceptional circumstances when requested.
- To ensure that the service offers a warm, caring, stimulating and homely environment to all the people we support which recognises and values their collective and individual needs and aspirations.

**Our Deputy Care Home Manager skills and experience:
- Possess Care Certificate but the Diploma in Health & Social Care or related qualification would be an asset
- Experience of supervising, training, and mentoring staff
- At least one year’s experience at team leader or management level, preferably in a care home setting.
- Able to demonstrate knowledge of Health & Social care Act 2008 and CQC Fundamental standards
- Competent approach to budgets and petty cash procedures
- Able to manage difficult situations effectively.
- Able to prioritise and meet deadlines
- Being able to use own initiative
