**What does an apprentice support worker do?**

The Apprenticeship will take approximately 12 months to complete, and will allow you to achieve a Level 2 Diploma in Health and Social Care. You will work alongside experienced staff members, and learn the skills and knowledge you will need to become a confident Social Care Worker. You will be fully supported by your colleagues and your Manager throughout your Apprenticeship, and you will develop valuable experience within the industry.

The role of a support worker is to ensure the people we work with are safe, happy and lead fulfilling lives. Supporting someone with learning disability isn’t just personal care, you could be taking people shopping, cinema, bowling, spending days on trips out and many more activities.

**Where would I work?**

Wey View provides residential support for 10 adults with learning disabilities, autism and complex emotional and behavioural needs.

Originally an older style care home, the property was completely reconfigured and

updated in November 2015. The accommodation includes eight en-suite bedrooms in the main building as well as extensive communal space that includes a large open

dining room and several lounge areas for relaxation and social activities. Additionally, there are two self-contained one-bedroom annexes for individuals who benefit from a more bespoke living environment and support but who can also access the facilities and

social benefits of the main home when they choose.

To the rear of the property there is a large garden with a dedicated activities room.
