**Job Introduction**:
BBC Sport NI cover a wide range of sporting events from the GAA’s All-Ireland Championships to women’s interprovincial rugby and everything in-between. The online team, for which is role will be joining, delivers written, video and audio content on our digital platforms - namely the BBC Sport website, app and our social media channels. This role will work primarily with our digital video and social team, but also work across our written content too.
**Main Responsibilities**:
The main responsibility of the Assistant Producer in the BBC Sport NI team is to deliver engaging, creative and entertaining digital content. The is a chance to work in the busy Belfast sports room in a multi-faceted role. The post encompasses a variety of tasks, including original sports journalism, writing, editing and packaging digital video content for our website, app and social media platforms.
The work is varied in a fast-moving, demanding environment and demands flexibility, creativity and enthusiasm. No week is the same and you’ll move from editing digital highlights of sporting action to creating bespoke social media content.
You’ll embrace the BBC’s digital development plan and ensure content is delivered to the highest standards on all digital platforms. Originating and producing, as part of a team, a wide variety of digital sport content for relevant output. You will be a passionate sports fan, with experience of making digital video content. You’ll love the idea of working on live sporting events - from making digital highlight packages to working on location at sporting events to produce bespoke social media content. Your schedule will be flexible to cover live sport on weekends and at evenings. You will also be knowledgeable of current social media trends, and know how to engage audiences through digital content - video and written.
- Have experience of working in sports journalism.
- Be able to video edit for digital platforms including social media.
- Be able to writing sports copies (news, live and features) for digital platforms.
- Have a strong understanding of sports social media content.
- Have the ability to use cameras for digital platforms.
- Have experience of being a multi-platform journalist.
