We have an excellent opportunity for a Structuring Advisor to join our Investments team, reporting to the Head of Structuring & Transaction Management. This is a permanent role and can be based in Edinburgh or London.
The Department
The Role- Support product innovation and development and other life-cycle activity, certain investment activity and commercialisation across Real Assets.- Enhance investment capability, offer a world class enabling function focused on delivery of fund and asset structuring and efficient transaction structuring to deploy capital into Real Asset opportunities.- Engage, and establish strong relationships, with the investment teams to support our growth and delivery of mandates and investment performance and with other key stakeholders across the product and investment lifecycle.
**Responsibilities**:
- Generate and support product innovation and development across Real Assets- Efficiently coordinate Real Assets transactions across the investment lifecycle- Contribute to a global centre to service all end-to-end investment management strategies across Real Asset activity- Enhance investment returns by enhancing and protecting alpha- Adherence to house policy, investment policy, specific regulatory restrictions and building collaborative working relationships with central support functions including Operations, Tax and Legal to ensure ongoing compliance-
- Provide legal risk management oversight which ensures that all material legal risks arising during the fund lifecycle are identified (timeously), monitored and controlled through the development of appropriate processes and procedures) and any necessary restructuring solutions are implemented- Develop strong working relationships with the wider Real Assets teams and key stakeholders to the Real Assets business to ensure effective delivery of fund and asset level transactions and structuring solutions, working closely and proactively with fund managers, portfolio managers, Global Product (including Product Development), Investment Specialists, Private Markets Operations teams, Finance, Tax, Legal, Risk & Compliance and other internal and external partners and service providers.- Where required, provide transactional management support to Real Assets investment activity in line with commercial and legal objectives- Contribute to the design, maintenance and development of the Real Assets business model and function as a hub of in-depth knowledge in relation to Real Assets business operations, worldwide. As a specialist role it will use the detailed knowledge and experience of the Real Assets business to mitigate commercial risk through the provision of integrated support from a transactional, management and broader Real Assets business perspective.- Practical knowledge of fund and asset structuring solutions- Knowledge of applicable laws, regulations and Corporate Governance- Knowledge of the commercial and legal aspects of Real Assets transactions- Understanding of good corporate governance- Technical expertise in relevant areas and ability to explain technical concepts in understandable terms- Energetic, flexible, collaborative, and productive; a strong teammate and leader who works well with others and is able to work under pressure- Project management skills- Risk awareness- Strong negotiation and problem solving skills- A quick learner capable of assimilating and commercialising technical knowledge and information- Strong written, oral, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
Qualifications:
- Qualified Lawyer or other relevant qualification- At least 3 years PQE- Exposure to Financial Services Industry- Knowledge of structuring unregulated funds
