**Role: Remote Embedded Software engineers (Principal + Senior)** **Location: Chester** **Remote work: pretty much 100% remote (with the odd occasion to come in for meetings but not very often)** **Salary: competitive + benefits** **Hours of Work: 37 hours** **Principal: (Now, Principal or "good" Senior)** - Maximise the skill coverage from the Principal role along with the next role (Senior). - This role would now be required to: First learn, and then with the aid of the team, maintain and develop the architecture in line with existing concepts. I - mportantly, they would be required to prevent architectural/design drift. - Be extremely technically competent, hands-on, in the real time embedded and networked devices world. (Arm iMx1064 or similar, using FreeRTOS) We are referring to this role as the "team lead" role (whether that be Principal or Senior level). **Senior embedded**: In combination with the team-lead role, this role compliments and enhances the skill coverage. Personality wise, we see this much more of a detail-orientated personality; someone who takes their time, but gets it right first time (& who compliments the above team-lead role) **Key Skills**: - Degree or equivalent experience in computer science or similar discipline. - Languages: advanced C / C++ - Familiar with a wide range of ethernet communications protocols, including UDP & TCP/IP and TLS - Familiar with the concepts of unicast, multicast and broadcast packets - Embedded systems design and coding in a real-time operating system. (Eg.
