**Principal Embedded Software Engineer - Fully Remote** **Location** Fully Remote **Salary**£55k to £65k per annum **Benefits** Regular salary reviews, 25 days holiday, health insurance & pension **Other info** 36 hours per week **Purpose of Role** The Principal Embedded Software Engineer role is intended to be the backbone for the Company’s software development strategy and team, defining and guiding the architecture and the elements that compose it, guiding work priorities and managing the deliverablesand timescales. It is essential that you are able to balance the big picture on one hand and delve into the detail on the other. You will be involved in the full software lifecycle, from requirements analysis to team and project management to post-productionsupport and will use your experience to guide methods and deliveries. **Essential Skills** - Experience of delivering commercial projects on real-time systems using (Free)RTOS or similar - Experience in data acquisition, control and communications. - Peripheral interfacing experience (SPI, I2C, memory). - Experience debugging multithreaded code. - Experience of working with open-source libraries. - Experience of working with an IP stack. - Proven track record of completing tasks and projects effectively and to time. - Experience delivering code on a range of MCU platforms, such as (but not limited to): - ARM Cortex (e.g., M7, A8) oPIC24/PIC32 oESP32 - Net+Arm (e.g., NS9750) oSTM32 oMSP - Advanced system architecture design and implementation experience, including the ability to draw on "lessonslearned". **Desirable Skills**: - UpToDate knowledge of embedded cybersecurity implementations. - Microsoft DevOps: boards, repos, pipelines or similar. - Linux / BalenaOS familiarity. - Containers. - Familiarity with CoAP, VLANs, LLDP, SSH, SNMP, LDAP/RADIUS. - IoT, WiFi, ZigBee, Bluetooth
