**Summary**:
Cabinet Office supports the Prime Minister and ensures the smooth running of government - from developing policy, to modernising public services. We welcome talented people from all backgrounds with the skills and the commitment to build a career in the Civil Service.
The Cabinet Office Purpose is:
- To maintain the integrity of the Union, coordinate the security of the realm and sustain a flourishing democracy
- To support the design and implementation of HM Government’s policies and the Prime Minister’s priorities
- To ensure the delivery of the finest public services by attracting and developing the best public servants and improving the efficiency of government
The work Cabinet Office delivers is vast and therefore presents opportunities to develop your skills and experience in a variety of critical government agendas.
The Government has a clear agenda to ‘level-up’ across the UK, promoting growth in the regions, and strengthening the Union. We have seen a seismic shift in the way we work in the past few months on both an individual and cultural level. COVID-19 has demonstrated that we can move away from our London-centricity and still deliver key government priorities. We must build on this, to ensure that the Civil Service and administration of government is better connected with the communities across the UK.
To drive this forward the Cabinet Office has established the Places for Growth and Beyond Whitehall Programme that has been tasked with coordinating the planning across Government departments and public bodies to create a more geographically dispersed and better-connected Civil Service, who live and work in the communities they serve.
Headed by a Deputy Director, the Places for Growth and Beyond Whitehall team is a friendly, highly collaborative team operating in a fast paced environment.
We enjoy working together. We're flexible. We deliver results. We embrace smarter working. And we're excited by the future. Good thing, too - after all, we're leading the government's thinking to change how the civil service will work in the future
**Job description**:
We are looking to fill one vacancy for a Departmental Delivery Partner role sitting within the Places for Growth and Beyond Whitehall Programme.
Reporting to a grade 7 work-stream lead, this will be a stakeholder engagement role with some policy advice and project management.
The post holder will become the first point of contact with assigned departments tasked with getting to know their day-to-day business and supporting them to deliver the location strategy deliverable in support of the Government’s “levelling up” ambitions.
**Responsibilities**:
- Key responsibilities include, but not limited to:_
- Developing strong relationships with departmental stakeholders at all levels across Government to drive the necessary departmental planning
- Support the development of a cross-government view of relocation plans, identify synergies and providing coordination between departments where opportunities arise
- Providing ministerial updates on Departmental workforce/location planning - including miscellaneous briefings for Ministers and senior officials
**Essential Criteria**
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- The ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with a variety of stakeholders at all levels of seniority
**Desirable Criteria**
