We are looking for resilient, motivated and empathetic individuals to help support Looked after young people aged 16-18 develop the skills towards independence.

At Grove Social Care we recruit staff to work in our services with young people, and also provide staff for other companies who deliver care, support and accommodation to children and young people aged 16 to 18 within the care sector.

**What does the role involve?**

Supporting and mentoring young people to achieve positive outcomes and finding and giving them opportunities to develop themselves.

It’s a varied and flexible role, a challenging yet rewarding position.

Supporting young people to achieve their goals, support them into education, employment and training

Helping to teach young people essential life skills, such as cooking, cleaning, budgeting, and booking appointments.

Engaging young people to participate in positive activities, both in placement and in the community

Building up a trusting relationship and providing emotional support to young people who may have complex needs and present challenging behaviour.

Supporting the young people to develop healthy lifestyles, positive relationships, self-esteem, and confidence.

Helping towards keeping a safe, secure and clean, living environment.

Following policies, risk assessments, and keep up to date with daily paperwork.

Someone with a can do attitude, who attends work wanting to help the young person to achieve

Previous experience is beneficial; however, we welcome applicants that we feel would have the right characteristics, aptitude, and life skills to work with young people. Full training will be provided prior to starting.

**Salary/ Working hours**:
£200 - £227.50 per day based on a full shift. Additional pay for bank holidays to be determined when necessary. Day rate based on a shift from 0900 - 2300 sleep in from 2300 - 0800 then 0800 - 0900

Day rate depends on the length of shift

**Working location**:
Working with young people in various homes across the locality. Applicants must be willing to travel.

**Due to the nature of the role, we can only consider applicants aged 22 years and above, this is an occupational requirement and therefore exempt from schedule 9 of the Equality Act 2010.**

**We are committed to the safeguarding of young people, so we require all applicants to obtain an enhanced DBS check unless you already have a current DBS on the update service that checks both the child and adult workforce.**

**Experience**:

- Similar Care Sectors: 1 year (preferred) but not essential the correct attitude is most important
- Life experience

Licence/Certification:

- Full UK Driving License (preferred)
