**Full Job Description**

We have an exciting opportunity for successful applicants to work in our unique, rewarding and inspiring organisation. We are a service provider who provides safe, secure, nurturing, high standard accommodation for young persons age 16-18 year olds with an array of needs, we support them with all the tools and skills to become independent.

We provide the skills and emotional support that help young people develop independence post 18,

We support the emotional needs of the young person and where necessary. Through your observations and assessments of the young persons wellbeing and with your excellent communication skills, together we can provide positive outcomes for their futures. We work in harmony and closely together as a united team,

We offer a variety of packages for each young person, which will have all different levels of support.

Our mission is to create a community like environment where everyone, managers staff and young residents are made to feel valued, respected and appreciated.

Essential Requirements:
Must hold a current up to date Enhanced DBS

Applicant have a NVQ 2 or diploma in either:
Health and Social Care Experience

Youth Work Practice Experience

Applicant must have a minim 12-month experience of working in similar provision within the last 5 years

All applicants must be fluent in English

Applicants must have completed Mandatory Trainings in Moving & Handling, Safeguarding, Infection Control, Health & Safety, Medication, First Aid, Food Hygiene, Fire Safety, however full training can be provided

**Your Role**:

- Support young people in settling into the accommodation and local community; help young people locate all the local resources.
- To show empathy, understanding and warmth to all young people in a parent like manner, to be observant but not judgmental,
- Support and monitor the young people’s ability to engage with everyday living skills, identifying their needs where necessary.
- To support and assist young people with budgeting money, grocery shopping and manage their weekly allowance, promote healthy eating and exercise, Advise and give guidance to healthy hygiene, give guidance and advise on how to promote healthy relationships, and educating on dangers of drugs, drinking, sexual health and how to keep safe, this will be managed and recorded using short courses and programmes that we have onsite, we will also arrange out side speaker to attend drop in sessions at our regular residents meetings, but to use common sense and good advice at all times.
- To encourage the young persons to engage and take part with local activities and events where possible,
- Promote and encourage safe, structured boundaries with young people in following the requirements of our young Person’s Agreement contract that will be given to the young persons on arrival.
- Maintain and follow our robust record keeping system, complete all required paperwork and administration.
- Produce high standard monthly progress reports and liaise with our house manager with regard to each young person’s progress, incidents and daily logs.
- Work in partnership with all agencies and support the young people and attend meetings, you will be required to attend admission and planning meetings as well as LAC Reviews,
- You will be responsible of carrying out weekly Health and Safety checks for the accommodation, you must record and report any repair work or damage to the property immediately to ensure it is kept to a high standard.
- To have excellent and effective communication with your colleagues, managers and all parties involved with the day-to-day running of the provision and young persons wellbeing.
- Be able to confidently work alone and be part of a team
- Maintain confidentiality of young people and report any concerns regarding young person’s welfare to your house manager.
- Attend staff meetings and training sessions as and when required.
- Attend structured supervision sessions as required

Due to the vulnerability of our young persons a robust vetting process is required for the successful applicants, therefor you must be able to provide the following,
- UK passport/Residence Permit to work in the UK
- NI
- Undertake an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) through our agency or 3rd
