School Workshop Presenter

Wokingham, United Kingdom PrimeVR - Virtual Reality for Schools Full time

**THIS IS A GREAT OPPORTUNITY FOR THE RIGHT PERSON. PLEASE READ PROPERLY BEFORE APPLYING.**

PrimeVR is looking for individuals who are interested in casual, occasional freelance work to support our existing team of workshop presenters. Our current team has a diverse background, having worked in sports coaching, corporate training, teaching, banking and recruitment to name a few. Many of our presenters have retired from the public and private sector and they are looking for flexible ad-hoc work towards the end of their careers.
- **Are you looking for occasional work around your current commitments or lifestyle?**:

- **Would you like to make a difference within education?**:

- **Would you be confident at presenting in front of a primary school class?**:

- **Do you enjoy driving?**

**If you said yes to all of the above, this could be the perfect opportunity for you**

**About PrimeVR**

PrimeVR was founded in 2017 by a qualified teacher and has grown to become the UK’s leading Virtual Reality (VR) workshop company for schools. Our workshops are a great way of bringing the national curriculum to life. We can blast pupils into space, drop them into the rainforest and even take them to the depths of the ocean. Over the past six years, we have visited over 1,000 schools across the UK, delivering more than 20 different topics and we’ve inspired over 100,000 students using VR.

Over the past six years, we have gained a reputation for delivering inspiring and educationally driven workshops. This has only been possible through our professional and friendly team who have amassed more than three hundred 5* reviews through Google, Trustpilot and Facebook. Please check these out for yourself as it will give you an idea of what to expect from the role.

**About the role**

We are looking for individuals who are happy to work as freelancers on an ad-hoc basis. We have a team of presenters who work during the school term to deliver our educational workshops and we are looking to build a network of individuals who are happy to support with bookings as and when required. This role would suit an individual who is happy to be self-employed or somebody who is not financially required to work but would enjoy visiting different schools when work becomes available.

Our leaders need to be enthusiastic, friendly and professional at all times to ensure that students and teachers have an exceptional experience delivered by PrimeVR. Although our virtual reality headsets provide a real ‘wow’ experience, it’s our workshop leaders who are responsible for creating a safe and effective learning environment. It’s important to us that students are engaged and challenged through questions, discussions and activities while actively participating in our workshops.

**Key characteristics**

To join the PrimeVR team, you must be:

- **An excellent communicator** (both verbally and in writing). You will be responsible for presenting to students from KS2 (7 years old) up to KS3 (14 years old). You will also need to be confident in communicating with school staff, from senior leaders to the premises team.
- **Organised, punctual and reliable.** It’s a huge effort for schools to book workshops and invite external visitors onsite. Risk assessments, permission slips and logistics take a lot of planning for schools. It’s our responsibility to ensure we are on time and that we know what we are doing by delivering an experience above and beyond expectations.
- **Calm, patient and friendly.** As all teachers (and parents) know, children can be testing at times. It’s important that no matter what situation you are presented with, you are able to keep calm and work under pressure.
- **Hardworking and motivated.** A typical day in a school starts at 9am and finishes at 3pm but you must operate at 100% during this time and your enthusiasm should be contagious. If you’re despondent, tired or not ‘feeling it’, this will rub off on the students in your workshop.
- **Always looking to learn. **We currently offer schools over 20 different topics across the KS2 curriculum, from Volcanoes in Geography to Ancient Egypt in History to Climate Change in Science. Although we provide all of the materials that you will need to deliver our workshops, it’s important that you are excited to improve your knowledge and pass this on to the children you teach.
- **Committed. **Lots of schools book our workshops months and months in advance (some up to a year). We are looking for presenters who can work with us long-term. We put a huge amount of effort into onboarding our presenters to ensure they feel confident and comfortable in the role, so we appreciate the same commitment in return. Please ask as many questions as possible during the recruitment process to ensure this is the right fit for you and your current circumstances.

**Responsibilities**
- Commuting and driving to schools in your designated region. Workshop leaders are not obliged to acc
