Job Advert Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join Investigative Training as a Police Staff Investigative Trainer.

You will be at the forefront of planning and delivering training to staff both internally and externally, helping develop those individuals in line with best practice.

About the team/Department you will be joining:

- We are a large team based in Ty Morgannwg (HQ) Bridgend, but, there will be the requirement on occasion for the successful applicant to work at other locations throughout the force.
- There is an ability to work flexibly when not delivering courses in Ty Morgannwg (HQ), or, in other areas of the force.
- Our courses are delivered between the hours of 9am and 5pm, Monday-Friday.
- The Investigative Training Unit pro-actively supports the Health, Wellbeing and Development of staff in line with their role, and, also for those seeking promotion.

About the role and your key responsibilities:

- To plan and deliver innovative training, complete associated administration and develop all South Wales Police officers, staff and external bodies as necessary.
- To stay updated with the latest investigative techniques and legal requirements to ensure training content is current and relevant.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of training programs and make necessary adjustments to improve outcomes.
- To promote and Champion Investigative Training, both within South Wales Police and externally with other law enforcement agencies and partners.

What skills and experience do we need you to bring to the role:

- The applicant must be / have been PIP 2 accredited and be an experienced Investigator.
- The applicant must be the holder of a police trainer’s certificate (or be prepared to attend a course to successfully obtain one) or hold a Certificate in Education in post 16 Education or
- Knowledge and experience of Advanced Witness and Suspect Interviewing is desirable.
