**The Role**
As a Childrens Residential Care Worker, you will play a vital role in the daily care and support of our children, helping them to heal, grow, and thrive. You will work as part of an integrated care team, using a therapeutic approach to meet each young person’s individual needs.
**You will**:
- Build trusting, positive relationships with children who may struggle to form attachments.
- Actively listen to and respect their wishes, feelings, and experiences.
- Support them in daily routines, education, hobbies, and personal development.
- Respond with patience and empathy to behaviours that may reflect past trauma.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues, social workers, and other professionals.
- Keep accurate, detailed records of each child’s progress and daily experiences.
**About You**
We are looking for compassionate, resilient, and adaptable people who genuinely want to make a difference in a child’s life.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- A willingness to learn and work in a child-centred, therapeutic way.
- The ability to remain calm, consistent, and positive in challenging situations.
- Flexibility to work a rota including evenings, weekends, and sleep-ins.
- Experience working in a residential childcare setting
**Qualifications**
- **Desirable**: Level 3/4 qualification in Residential Childcare or equivalent, or a commitment to completing the Level 4 Diploma in Working with Children and Young People (fully funded)
- **Essential**:A full UK driving license
