Catering Assistant

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a **Catering Assistant**to join our nursing care services in **Borehamwood, Hertfordshire.**

As a **Catering Assistant,** you will be responsible for supporting the safe preparation, reheating, presentation, and serving of meals using Apetito products, alongside basic food preparation. You will ensure that residents receive nutritious, well-presented meals that reflect their individual preferences and dietary needs. This role requires a hands-on approach, attention to detail, and a commitment to maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming kitchen environment in line with Forest Healthcare’s core values.

**Responsible for**:

- Basic breakfast preparations and preparation of occasional home baking (cakes and sandwiches, etc).
- Reheating, plating, and serving meals in line with Apetito guidance, ensuring presentation standards are met.
- To fill in all necessary legal paperwork where required, i.e. cleaning schedules, temperatures and health and safety paperwork.
- Stock control and ordering of food and catering supplies.
- Prepare food orders for residents in accordance with individual preferences and dietary requirements.
- Preparing trays for diners, ensuring meals are served correctly and promptly.
- To collaborate with the wider team to ensure the dining experience meets company standards and core values.
- Full training on reheating, plating, and serving our menu will be given.
- To wash all dirty cooking utensils, crockery, pots and pans using correct machinery and detergents and also wash up by hand when necessary.
