We have a full-time vacancy for a Business Support Assistant whose core focus will be to support our Local Authority Designated Officer (LADO). The LADO Service supports and challenges agencies to work together effectively to safeguard children from neglect and abuse by professionals, volunteers and those in public office who have direct contact or responsibility for children. The LADO Business Support Assistant will deliver the full range of administrative functions to the Local Authority Designated Officer (LADO).

The successful applicant will also work as part of the child protection conferencing team, supporting the ‘Children’s Rights Advocacy and Safeguarding Service’ (CRASS). The Children’s Advocacy Service works to ensure that children are central to the development and review of child protection and child in care plans, and that all professionals work together to improve outcomes for vulnerable children.

Duties will involve a range of tasks including;
- the monitoring of admin mailboxes;
- being a point of contact for the LADO and CRASS service, providing advice on the LADOs' roles and LADO process and signposting to appropriate services as requires;
- distribution of correspondence and reports, records management, meeting administration and detailed recording of complex meetings within strict timescales, and input of information to the Case Management System;
- be able to manage and prioritise workload effectively to meet statutory and non statutory deadlines,

This is a public/customer-facing role, where the statutory English language requirement for public sector workers applies.

Whilst the location/work base for these roles has been specified, our evolving ways of working means that the role may require you to work remotely (e.g. from home/other locations). We work flexibly to most effectively support the people, services and organisations that we support and will discuss this with you during the recruitment process. There will be a requirement to assist with the delivery of business support within our core business hours, Monday - Thursday 08.45 - 17.15 & Fridays 08.45 - 16.45.

**About You**

Applicants should have 4 GCSEs (A-C), or equivalent, including English and Maths and have excellent keyboard skills. Experience of working in an office environment would be an advantage. Comprehensive training will be given and once established in the role, opportunities for career development will be available.
