**Senior Accounts Assistant**

I am currently recruiting for an experienced **Senior Accounts Assistant** to join my prestigious client, based in Sutton Coldfield, on a full-time, permanent contract.

My client trades Worldwide, running a total of 4 companies, with a turnover range between £1-13 million per annum.

The successful applicant will report directly to the Head of Finance, to whom they will be required to give additional support on all aspects of accounting.

**Immediate start available for the right applicant.**

**The Role**:
These functions will have to be completed for ALL Companies.
- Month End routines, GNR valuations, Stock Valuation, Shop Purchases
- Prepare monthly management accounts
- Submitting quarterly VAT returns 3 companies
- Maintaining & updating fixed asset records
- Providing cover for the Accounts Administrator duties, including payroll and purchase ledger administration across all companies.
- All Journal entries (month end, payroll, stock moves etc)

**About you**:

- This person will need to be forceful, but fair.
- They must be able to explain to non-accounting persons what they need in order for them to carry out their role successfully
- They must be confident, Numeric, methodical and well organised.
- Able to work to deadlines, in a fast-paced role
- They must have excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Analytical and questioning approach

**Hours & Pay**:

- Salary around £30,000 with regular pay reviews
- Monday to Friday
- 28-Days Holiday inc Bank Holidays

**Experience**:

- At least 5 years in a senior accounting position
- Sage Accounts 50
- Sage Payroll 50
- Excel - Must be a confident user, with the ability to do pivot tables, all types of LOOKUP, create formula's, which could use multiple if statements
- Extract data from 3rd party software and produce financial and statistical information
- Full understanding of Month End, to include calculation of GNR values, stock values, departmental P & L, trial balances, balance sheets, journals.
- Bank Reconciliation
- Prepayments and Accruals
- Depreciation
- Experience with dealing directly with Auditors and Accountants
- Post year end accounting journals
- A full understanding of Trial Balance, Chart of Accounts, Profit & Loss and Balance Sheet
- An understanding of Import/Export would be beneficial.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: Up to £30,000.00 per year
