Ekim Consulting have been awarded an exclusive assignment to recruit a **"Legal, Risk and Compliance Director"** for a regulated restructuring advisory firm based in London. **Overview** This international firm exists to solve the unique problems of companies facing financial or other challenges. They provide experienced, hands-on, senior level leadership to corporates, creditors and shareholders in distressed and other special situations.Since launch in 2001, they have restructured approximately £158bn of debt across 140 transactions in 17 countries. The business has around 40 professionals and is now recruiting this newly created role of Legal, Risk and Compliance Director to grow the team. The Legal, Risk and Compliance Director will be responsible for managing all aspects of Legal, Risk and Compliance at the business. The role will report directly into the COO of the firm and will form part of the Central Support Function of the group. Therole will be hugely varied, covering all aspects of legal, risk and compliance of a regulated business operating in multiple jurisdictions, but in particular will involve managing regulatory compliance (including dealing with the FCA, as the businesses primaryregulator and the ICAEW, operational risk (including determining and mitigating the risks of business), data protection (including GDPR compliance) and corporate governance (including changes to the businesses structure). The role requires a confident, self-motivatedand proactive individual with relevant risk and/or compliance experience and a legal background. **Experience and Qualifications required.** - Excellent academics - The applicant should hold a recognised risk and/or compliance qualifications e.g an ICA Diploma or be a qualified lawyer. - Knowledge and experience commensurate with this role, having dealt with regulatory environments both in the UK and abroad, ideally in financial services. - Must be able to demonstrate a broad technical knowledge and expertise covering conduct of business matters, corporate governance matters and risk matters. - Practical and commercial approach to problem solving. - Experience of influence behaviours at all levels of an organisation. This role will be based in London and offers hybrid working model. The role comes with an excellent compensation package, including competitive salary and bonus.
