Our client has an enthusiastic, dynamic team undertaking a pivotal role in the preparation of the financial statements.
They are a £5bn turnover company with many stakeholders relying on the timeliness and accuracy of the financial information. It is vital that members of the Finance team understand the activities of the business in order to pre-empt potential issues and toidentify possible errors in the data.
The work is varied and requires strong analytical skills. There will be recurring monthly activities on which there will be a drive to make the processes leaner, together with project based activities.
Key responsibility is to contribute to the on time, on quality delivery of the monthly consolidation package and annual statutory accounts. This involves the:

- maintenance of the company’s trial balance, including reconciliation of GL balances
- calculation and posting of key journals
- analysis of data trends using understanding of business operations
- investigation and analysis of balance sheet accounts
- operation of key controls in relation to fixed assets and
- preparation of upload files for Commercial and Military divisions.
Other responsibilities will include;
- Strong relationships with key stakeholders (consolidation team, financial controllers, external auditors) are required
- Internal controls - help to ensure all processes are consistent with company internal control guidelines and are effective to minimise the risks of fraud or error.
- Continuous improvement - use experience and understanding to improve processes and controls.
**Requirements**:

- Newly qualified/part qualified Accountant
- Knowledge and experience in SAP or equivalent financial reporting tools
- Ability to work as part of a dynamic, enthusiastic team and to contribute with a positive, proactive mindset
- Strong communication skills - multiple stakeholders at different levels and in different countries
- Continuous improvement mindset
- Experience of interacting with internal and external audit teams
Finance accounting experience required
Experience of wider financial accounting is ideal
Ideally holds a relevant qualification
Must have qualifications - ACA, ACCA and CIMA desirable
