**Location - Warrington, North West**

**An exciting opportunity for an experienced Estimator or Senior Estimator to join an established and growing business unit involved in estimating contracts and projects during pre-contract/tender stage for a range of civil engineering, rail and aviation projects in our North region.**

**Business Unit**

A busy and fast paced work winning team involved in a range of projects at pre-contract/tender stage covering civil engineering works in a variety of sectors to include rail (bridges, embankments, stations, platforms, tunnels etc.), Environment Agency, Local Authority etc. The pre-contract/work winning team are involved in multi-disciplinary civils projects across the whole business whether one off tendered projects or projects within our long term national framework / contract agreements with key clients.

Existing contracts include rail CP6 infrastructure projects and minor works, aviation civils maintenance and Environment Agency frameworks with works typically including bridge re-construction/replacement, upgrades and refurbishments, station work (platforms, access for all etc.), structures including bridges, tunnels and footbridges.

**The Role**

As an Estimator or Senior Estimator, the key tasks and responsibilities of your role will include but not be limited to:

- The effective registration, control and administration of tender documentation
- The preparation and management of tenders from receipt of documents through to delivery
- The presentation of tenders to senior management at tender review meetings
- Liaison with the Supply Chain team in respect of placing supplier / subcontractor enquiries
- Technical and commercial appraisal of construction labour, plant, materials and temporary works
- Take offs from drawings and production of cost effective tenders from first principles.
- The effective analysis and pricing of risks
- The preparation of tender submission documents
- The preparation of estimating reports
- Providing assistance to proposals and contract management functions

**Requirements**:
To excel in this role, you will have previous experience as an Estimator or Senior Estimator in a civil engineering environment (ideally within rail but other civils infrastructure project backgrounds will be considered).

**Essential**:

- First Principles Estimating experience
- Civil engineering project experience
- Experience as a Senior Estimator in a civil engineering and/or rail contractor organisation
- Working knowledge of Excel (& Word) and estimating software.

**Preferred**
- Rail experience would be beneficial but civils experience in other sectors such as aviation and highways will be considered.
