**About the role**
Balfour Beatty Vinci has an exciting opportunity for a **Design Coordinator** to join our team to work in** Birmingham** within our tunnelling sub lots.
**Role Purpose**:
Assist the Design Manager in carrying out the Design Managers Accountabilities
**What you'll be doing**
- Deliver a fully integrated and coordinated design ready for construction to meet project requirements.
- Responsible for a large multi-disciplinary design team, located in the UK and overseas.
- Ensure the designs take full account of the construction methodology, sequence and temporary works, under the direction of the Principal Contractor’s Temporary Works Coordinator and supported by the Temporary Works Design Lead.
- Ensure the role of the Designer is fulfilled in accordance with CDM2015 and ensure that a CDM Design Risk Register is maintained documenting the design actions taken with due regard to the Principles of Prevention. This requires active use of BBV’s CDM Safetibase and engagement with HS2 operations and maintenance representatives.
- Ensure the design resources have the competency to fulfil the role of Designer (as required by CDM) and coordinate with the BBV Health & Safety department for training and development.
- Ensure the design meets the HS2 Environmental Minimum Requirements, including all requirements for environmental mitigation.
- Ensure multi-disciplinary input to the design for the necessary expertise and coordination, including other BBV teams (internal), HS2 and external stakeholders.
- Ensure work is undertaken in accordance with the BIM Execution Plan, ensuring that design information conforms to the necessary standards and can be shared for use in 4D and 5D planning and cost estimation.
**Who we're looking for**
- Large scale linear project experience (eg rail, highway or similar).
- SMSTS
- CSCS card
- Membership of a relevant professional body
- Qualified Civil Engineer or similar equivalent, with multi-disciplinary breadth
