Accounting Manager Temporary Maternity Cover

**Overview**
We would like to announce an exciting opportunity to join our EU IT Accounting Team as a Temporary Manager to cover maternity leave.
The EU IT Accounting Team collaborates closely with Corporate IT and operates as a part of the Global IT function. The team are responsible for overseeing 13 different income statements across our European operations.
The key financial management responsibilities include overseeing all expense analysis activities for European IT, Fiscal Year forecasts and projections for thirteen European IT Group Branches and the introduction of new expense management initiatives, costcontrols and accounting processes for IT projects.
This role is also responsible for IT contract management, which includes supporting the Legal and Procurement teams in conducting detailed contract reviews and negotiations with our vendors to ensure we achieve maximum value from our local and global agreements.
In this role, you will be responsible for managing the operational activities of the team, driving the long-term strategy of European IT Business Management, creating and maintaining procedures that support key areas of the team’s operations and trainingand developing all members of the team.

**Responsibilities**
- Upholding fiduciary responsibility by providing accurate financial reporting
- Reviewing and supervising financial statement and balance sheet reconciliations
- Overseeing the reporting of EU IT spend providing external vendor and internal expense analysis
- Management of forecast and projections with actual spend variance analysis
- Supervising and reviewing accounting entries and allocations for cost centre accuracy
- Analysing and implementing financial management and cost control initiatives
- Assisting where required in internal and external audits for business and IT cost compliance
- Financial and contractual management activities within pan-European and Global IT Projects
- Global IT governance and consistency in IT financial management across the company
- Training and development of EU IT Business Management team members
- Maintaining and improving a strong system of internal controls
- Influencing the team’s short-term and long-term strategies ensuring maximum impact and value
- Maintaining and leading a culture of ethical practice that demonstrates Enterprise’s core values
- Leading the team to act as a valued Business Partner to the business, daily rental and IT
**Qualifications**
- Previous experience in an Accounting Manager role
- Proven success in ability to lead, train and effectively develop employees
- Ability to supervise and maintain an efficient and effective cost control environment
- Ability to confidently present ideas and opinions to various levels of management
- Unwavering attention to detail, with a firm commitment to accuracy
- Ability to formulate, influence and drive forward longer-term team strategy
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
This role is based at our European Headquarters in Egham, Surrey. Hybrid working of 2 days per week from home permitted.
The cover period will be 6-12 months.
