Your role in this apprenticeship will be to support the technical support team, from our primary base in Woodingdean Business Park, Brighton with 1st/2nd line IT support and administration.
**What it’s like being an Infrastructure Technician Apprentice**
Working as part of a team you will join a fast-growing busy IT Company that provide technical support services to SMEs throughout the UK on IT and telecoms products and services. In this role, you will respond to phone calls and tickets covering the installationsand maintenance of the company’s growing client base, as well as work on IT projects.
Throughout your apprenticeship you will have the opportunity to get stuck into various aspects the job to fully immerse yourself in what it means to be an Infrastructure Technician Apprentice. Duties include:
- Answering calls and logging tickets
- Managing low level tickets such as Full hard-drives, reboots required.
- Troubleshooting hardware and software issues using basic tools such as command prompt and PowerShell to maintain the safety of the companies networking infrastructure
This role will require you to demonstrate flexibility and commitment as it will require you to work varied shift patterns. During the first 3 month of the apprenticeship, you’ll be working normal daytime hours from 9am-5pm. During months 4 to 7, you’ll beon a shift with doing some lates e.g. Mon: 9am to 5pm, Tue: 10am to 6pm, Wed:12pm to 8pm, Thur:1pm - 9pm, Fri: 10am to 6pm. Months 7 and onwards, will see you doing more late shifts with 10pm being the latest finish time.
Once you start doing the late shifts your salary will be increased to reflect that.

**So how does the apprenticeship work?**
At Tiro we’re obsessed with changing lives through science and technology apprenticeships so we can’t wait to have you on board.
Over 18 months, you’ll devote a minimum of 6 hours of your working week on 'off the job’ training. This can include theory training (for example, virtual lessons & online learning), alongside practical training (for example shadowing, mentoring, & time spentwriting assignments. Together this will count towards a Level 3 Laboratory Technician apprenticeship. You’ll be trained by an expert tutor from Tiro as well as an experienced mentor at Hubergroup who together, will make sure you develop the knowledge, skills,and work habits you’ll need to succeed in your career.
Being an apprentice is hands-on, so you’ll get the chance to learn things you might otherwise not have experienced in a university or college environment.
The best part? You’ll be earning a salary while you gain your qualifications, meaning no huge student loans to pay back at the end of the programme

We’re looking for someone who LOVES all things Technology. We’re looking for someone who is driven and determined to get what they want. You’ll need to show you can be thorough, obsessive and have strong attention to detail and observational skills. You’llhave a naturally enquiring mind and be digitally savvy. We’re looking for someone who’s fearless. You’ll be brave enough to be yourself, with enough self-confidence to speak to customers and come up with quick solutions to fix the problem in hand. To succeedin this apprenticeship, you’ll need bags of enthusiasm, be a fantastic collaborator and be hungry to learn.

**The Package**
At Tiro, we make great things happen for people. And that starts with you. In this role you’ll receive:
- £16,000 - £18,000 per annum
- 20 days holiday, plus a day on your birthday
- Working hours are 37.5 hours per week - Monday to Friday with varied shift patterns between 9am-10pm. Late shifts will start after the 3rd month
