Deputy Coffee Roaster

We are the Colombian Coffee Company, a social enterprise committed to supporting coffee growing communities in Colombia. We roast our single origin, single variety coffees for our Cafe in Soho, Roastery in Flat Iron Square and stall in the Borough Market, as well as selling retail bags in store and online to our dedicated customer base. We are in the process of upgrading the size of our Roastery as well as the Roaster itself, and are looking for a passionate and dedicated Barista to join our team as Deputy Roaster
- Have worked in the coffee industry for _at least _1 year
- Have a keen interest in Speciality Coffee and Roasting
- Have IT knowledge, in particular using Excel
- Have excellent time management and organisational skills
- Have excellent interpersonal skills
- Be able to communicate effectively with different stakeholders
At first, you will shadow our Head Roaster during the training period. The skills you will learn will include:
- Using computer software to plot the roast profile of different coffee varieties
- The cupping process used by Speciality Coffee Associations to Q-Grade coffee
- How the roasting process can impact the overall flavour of a particular coffee
- The nature of the Speciality Coffee supply chain; what journey a batch of green coffee makes from farm to cup
