Dental Receptionist

This position is for 36 hours per week Monday to Thursday.

This is a position that requires an eye for detail and a systematic approach. It is busy, varied, and at times can be intense. Full training and mentoring is done in-house, working alongside experienced staff members until you are confident in the role. We generally advise new team members that although they will feel comfortable with the day to day workings of the practice within 6-8 weeks it takes up to 9 months to feel truly competent and confident with **all** of the systems.

Below is a job description which is not exhaustive but should hopefully give a flavour of what is involved.

Reception
- Provide outstanding customer service
- Take clients through the Gentle Dental client experience
- Answer the telephone in the prescribed manner
- Welcome all clients arriving at the practice
- Ensure that the appointment system is efficient and accurate
- Collect and record client payments
- Build a relationship with clients
- Take phone calls from new and existing clients

Administration and finance
- Ensure that client records are completed correctly
- Encourage prompt payments and follow up outstanding payments according to the practice policy
- Liaise with dental laboratories, supply companies and other organisations as required
- Send out client recalls
- Build the clinical diaries by increasing conversion on treatment uptake.
- Follow up calls to clients to arrange future appointment
- Discuss payment options and practice membership with clients
- Ensure treatment plans and consents are completed prior to appointments
- Keep the reception area and lounge clean and tidy
- Organise stock supplies and control of stationery and related items
- Other duties as necessary for the efficient operation of the practice
- Undergo training as may be required to develop your skills and abilities

A good working knowledge of word and excel is **essential** for this position. Some knowledge of dentistry is a bonus but not essential.
