Pertemps are currently seeking a Housing Assistant to join our client’s busy team to provide admin support and facilitate the smooth running of theirhousing management service, based in Crownhill, Plymouth.

As the Housing Assistant, you will be carrying out general office administration for the team, as well as providing excellent customer service. The Housing Assistant will also:

- Ensure that views and priorities of the customers are taken into account in all aspects of service delivery
- Have knowledge of the function of social housing, and an appreciation of the role of the third sector.
- Liaise with contractors and raise purchase orders via our client’s Ebis system.
- Examine invoices to ensure they match with the goods received or work ordered, along with coding any new invoices.
- Arrange inspections of void garages and order repairs.
- Contact waiting list applicants and make appropriate offers, and sign up customers to new licence agreements and explain their responsibilities.
- Arrange deposits and rent in advance to be paid, and set up direct debit for ongoing payments.
- Assist with testing and researching customer views and opinions, through direct contact in the office and remotely via telephone.
- Carry out administration relating to Mutual Exchanges; home lettings and terminations; cash incentive schemes; gardening assistance; rechargeable works; tenancy changes; satisfaction surveys; etc
- Assist in joint working with others, at our client and from outside the Company, to improve the quality of the services provided.
- Assist with testing and researching customer views and opinions, through direct contact in the office and remotely via telephone.

The successful Housing Assistant will need to be:

- Good with people, and can work well as part of a team and also on own initiative. You must be empathetic when dealing with sensitive issues.
- Able to work accurately in a fast paced environment whilst adhering to procedures and regulation.
- Flexible in their approach and willingness to work as directed by managers.
- Adaptable to changes in working practices.
- Quick and accurate on a range of duties.
- Able to persist diligently with a varied workload ensuring tasks are completed in a timely manner.

Previous experience of working in a customer-focused environment, in a paid or voluntary capacity, preferably in the “third sector” is desirable.
**Salary for the role is £11.83 per hour. The working hours are 9:00-17:00 Monday to Friday, and this is a temporary position being 3 months initially starting as soon as possible**.
