BCHA was founded in 1968 by a group of** **volunteers in Bournemouth trying to contribute to the local housing problems. **Today we are a charitable housing association supporting individuals and families across the South West and South of England**. We are a major provider of a diverse range of housing, support and learning services for socially excluded people.

The Role:
Imagine having the power to help individuals maintain their homes and find their financial footing. As a Rent Recovery Specialist, you'll:
- Keep rent accounts in check, ensuring income is protected.
- Recover monies owed, including rent, service charges, and more.
- Provide tenants with payment solutions and essential benefit advice.

- Navigate the full recovery process, from notices to legal proceedings.

**Requirements**:
Maintains an excellent working knowledge of the legal system in relation to rent recovery.
Extensive experience of working in rent recovery for a social housing provider
Good working knowledge of rent arrears process including Pre-Action Protocol for Social Landlords, notices and court hearings
Excellent understanding of universal credit, housing benefit and welfare reform
Keeps updated on Government policy and assistance available to our customers as a result of Covid-19
