Logistics Supervisor

Following a period of reorganisation and growth, we now have an exciting opportunity for a newly created logistic supervisor role within the company.
You will report directly to the Head of Operations and ensure the effective and efficient logistic function for the entire business by coordinating dispatch to our UK and export customers. This is a leadership role, and you will need to steer your team through a period of change, organise, train where needed and inspire them to meet the challenges facing a growing department. You should thrive on challenge, and change, be able to identify opportunities for improvement, innovation and efficiency and be driven to see solutions through to completion bringing the team with you at every stage.
Key Responsibilities will include:
- Lead and inspire the Despatch teams providing guidance, support, and development.
- Conducting regular 1:1’s and appraisals with team members
- Promote efficient working methods, highlighting any inefficiency and conducting root cause analysis.
- Manage and organise team workload to ensure output is maximised in line with the production plan, suggesting and implementing recovery measures where required.
- Monitor the team’s performance vs KPIs, regularly feeding back to the team on performance and senior colleagues on any barriers to achievement with proposed solutions.
- Provide and present updates on KPI performance, work progress and forward plans.
- Managing holiday planning within the area, ensuring sufficient holiday coverage for any period of absence
- Assist the production management team in planning, reporting and departmental projects as required.
- Conduct cyclical stock counts on products and other consumable materials, highlighting any known issues beforehand.

- Set an example to the team regarding H&S and Quality standards, assisting with driving a ‘right-first-time’ approach throughout the business.

- Monitor attendance levels within the team & help to promote well-being.

Key Requirements
Previous recent experience in a similar role and leading teams is essential. You will bring sound logistics process knowledge and best practice to our team.
