This post-holder will provide a specialist service within CAMHS to children, young people and their families in the Luton & Dunstable area based at our clinic in Charter House in Luton.

The successful person will offer assessments, treatments and consultation/ training. There will be scope to develop areas of specialist practice through further training and to explore new ways of working with and engaging our clients. The team works with young people with neurodevelopmental disorders, and the successful applicant will be offered training to undertake assessments for ASD (ADOS & 3Di).

The successful post-holder will directly contribute to the positive working environment within the multi-disciplinary team. The post-holder will require a degree of professional autonomy and self-management, and will be expected to audit their work supported by appropriate supervision.

The team is part of Bedfordshire CAMHS which is a large, dynamic and successful CAMHS service comprising of

4 emotional and behavioural teams, a LAC team, a CAMHs schools team, a parent-infant psychotherapy team, a paediatric team, a GP team, an adolescent mental health team, a crisis team and an eating disorders service.

We also have embedded workers in Early Help, CDC and social care. We offer regular opportunities for staff to undertake individualised CPD, and we provide opportunities for staff wishing to ‘act up’ into more senior roles on occasion.

Bedfordshire CAMHs has a thriving service-user participation group which meets regularly to consider service development initiatives. The successful applicant would have the opportunity to join in a number of quality improvement (QI) projects too so there is scope to do research and contribute to service development. Our clinics are readily accessible from North London or Milton Keynes and Northampton areas.
