As part of the Abellio Group, West Midlands Trains delivers around 1,300 train journeys a day, for more than 60 million passengers a year, across our two brands - West Midlands Railway and London Northwestern Railway.

As part of this investment, we are looking to recruit a **Production Delivery Manager**, on a **Fixed Term Contract - 12 Months**, to be based at our Soho (Birmingham) Depot.

**What does the job involve?**
- Day-to-day management of your team ensuring they work safely and effectively
- Ensuring shift production output and SLA targets are met for all train rolling stock maintenance activities
- Delivering and maintaining a safe working environment - ensuring safety is at the forefront of all activities
- Monitoring and improving the depot environmental performance
- Ensuring our train fleet meets our contractual service delivery requirements
- Providing employee teams with technical advice and ensuring rail standards are achieved
- Conduct investigations into accidents and incidents in the workplace
- Identifying and leading opportunities for continuous improvement
- Working closely with the training and competency team to assess, motivate, train and develop team members - maintain an effective depot workforce

**What skills and experience do I need to do the job?**
- Have previous technical, engineering or manufacturing management experience
- Sound knowledge and understanding of Health, Safety and Environmental legislation
- Be a great communicator - able to flex your style to the audience - both verbally and in writing
- A desire to improve and change ways of working
- Be a natural motivator and leader for your team
- An ability to proactively identify opportunities for continuous improvement
- Problem solving abilities - able to resolve issues within tight timescales
- Good IT systems knowledge - Microsoft Office as well as in-house technical systems
- Ideally previous practical experience in an engineering or manufacturing maintenance environment - managing a large team
