**Trainer / Facilitator (Leadership)**

**Location**:Police Headquarters, Exeter

**Salary**:Starting from £29,433 rising by yearly increments to a maximum of £34,287 per annum

Devon & Cornwall Police and Dorset Police have been in a strategic alliance since 2015, with several shared functions and services working across all three counties. Shared services include the People Function (HR), Finance, Information & Communications,Technology, Fleet Services, Legal Services, Business Change as well as several other enabling functions. By working together, they provide efficiencies, financial savings, increased resilience, improve information sharing and deliver improvements for the public.

They continue to have their own distinct identities and pursue Police and Crime plans agreed locally with their elected Police and Crime Commissioners. Each Force has their own Chief Constable, Deputy Chief Constable, and broader Executive Team.

**About the role**

To develop and deliver key work packages, events and learning interventions that will provide leaders at all levels across the 2 organisations (Devon & Cornwall Police and Dorset Police), with the appropriate leadership and management skills to deliver improvedorganisational performance, manage change effectively, and help meet the increasingly challenging demands on the police service, aligning to the College of Policing’s National Centre for Police Leadership.

This exciting opportunity will allow you to work as part of a team to develop training courses to ensure they are challenging our workforce and adapting to an everchanging society that reflects modern inclusive values, whilst also meeting core prioritiesand demand. You will be embracing new ways of working, delivering training virtually and face to face across the Alliance, providing you with the opportunity to work from home with some in person deliveries across the 3 counties.

Your role will enthusiastically drive progress towards high performance results and change management to the business, that supports the delivery of both forces 'Force Visions and Priorities’. This strategy is critical in ensuring the Forces have a mentallyand physically well, highly skilled, and equipped workforce.
- A recognised training/teaching qualification (eg Police Trainer Certificate or equivalent City & Guilds Further Adult Education Certificate, Certificate of Education, Certificate in Training Practice or equivalent NVQ Level III in Learning and Development),or relevant experience in training and delivery. Please note it this is not held you must be willing to work towards this if appointed into the role. This will be paid for by the force.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to facilitate adult learning and adapt your communication to the needs of your audience. An ability to use emotional intelligence to ’think on one’s feet’ and respond to difficult questionsand situations with a calm and curious disposition
- Experience in creating, developing and delivering training packages in line with set agendas and achieving learning outcomes.
- The experience to take an ethical and values-based approach to supporting colleagues and students, to promote and maintain psychological safety, valuing diversity and creating an inclusive learning environment.

**What you'll need to succeed**

This role is a perfect for a professional with a recognised training/teaching qualification or relevant experience in training.

Relevant qualifications include:

- Police Trainer Certificate (or equivalent)
- City & Guilds Further Adult Education Certificate
- Certificate of Education, Certificate in Training Practice (or equivalent)
- NVQ Level III in Learning and Development
- Relevant training experience

Other desirable skills include Coaching & Mentoring Accreditation and MBTI, if you do not have these skills, we will support you in gaining these qualifications within the role.
