**Childrens residential home for children aged between 8 and 18 years**
BS Social Care are currently recruiting for a Childrens Support Worker to work in one of our Northampton homes providing a nurturing, caring, and safe service for children aged between 8 and 18 years. We support them to grow and learn and to develop their skills,confidence, and independence. The children and young people who live at the home have different learning, physical and emotional needs. Some children have high level complex needs, including health and social needs and behaviours that can challenge.

About the job; to work directly with children and young people as part of a team and to achieve the aims set out by The Banyan Tree within the organisation's policy framework.
The staff team will be responsible for supporting children and young people with emotional, behavioral and social difficulties and/or moderate learning difficulties and/or attachment disorder and/or mental health needs and the associated needs of these diagnosis'in all aspects of their lives.
The Residential Support Worker will assist the Senior Residential Support Workers and the Managers in providing the highest possible standards of care and support at all times for the children and young people.
Essential - Minimum of two years experience in working with children and young people with emotional behavioural and social difficulties and/or Learning Difficulties and/or Attachment Disorder.
Desirable - NVQ3/Diploma or other relevant childcare qualification.
Essential - Knowledge of The Children Act 1989, 2004, Care Standards Act 2000, Quality Standards and Children's Homes Regulations (as revised) Associated legislation.
Essential - Understanding of the developmental needs of children.
Essential - Awareness of the impact of disruptive patterns of life on children and young people. Have a working knowledge of, effective anti-discriminatory social work practices. Have a positive attitude toward research and ability to integrate learning.
Essential - Awareness of the dynamics of looking after a group of children with a range of needs and diagnosis' and being 'looked after'.
This is a full time and permanent role paying £22,340 - £27,314 with the option of overtime. You will be offered an intense induction followed by consistent training and supervisions. Progression is offered and supported. Benefits will also be offered suchas;
Annual-leave entitlement.
28 days annually. Please note that when working bank holidays you will either receive plus 50% pay or time of in lieu (TOIL).
Sickness Pay entitlement.
Sick pay is normally statutory sick entitlement. At the Director's discretion in some circumstances there is the possibility of pay.
Loyalty Bonus.
We have a discretionary annual loyalty bonus system.
Training
An extensive range of training is provided and integral to the organisation's aim to enhance the team's skills and performance. If team members leave within the first six months, a financial contribution could be required.
