Following a recent skill mix review, we have an exciting opportunity for a physiotherapist to join our Acute Therapy Team to lead the inpatient respiratory service for adults and paediatrics across Croydon Health Services. You will clinically lead and develop the Respiratory Physiotherapy services in conjunction with the Acute Therapy Operational Clinical Lead and Operations Managers.

You will undertake the comprehensive specialist assessment of patients, including those with a complex presentation, using investigative and analytical skills, and to formulate individualised management and treatment plans, using clinical reasoning, and utilising a wide range of treatment skills and options to formulate a specialised programme of care.

You will have responsibility for the supervision, mentoring / education and development of junior staff, therapy assistants and students within the speciality, provide a specialised resource to other healthcare staff/patients/carers and have an active involvement in Staff appraisal, Clinical Governance, Clinical Audit, Clinical Effectiveness and Research.

- To provide professional leadership to ensure the delivery of safe, high quality and effective patient care in adult respiratory therapy and support paediatric services.
- To be responsible for the strategic dewelopments within the respiratory therapy service in conjunction with the OCL.
- To act as ambassador for the therapy team
- To demonstrate through personal behaviours the core values of the Trust.
- Keep upto date with new developments, undertakiong audit to evaluate practice and liasing with multidisciplinary colleagues
- To undertake a therapy clinical specialty team leader role in planning, co-ordinating, delivering and evaluating the therapy service provided on a day-to-day basis within inpatient services.
- To be responsible for the continuing professional development and overall performance of physiotherapy staff delivering respiratory physiotherapy care, supported by the OCL.
