I am currently working with the HPRA, Ireland's regulatory body for medicines and devices for the benefit of humans and animals, to recruit for a Scientific Officer to join their Medical Devices team in their Assessment and Surveillance section.

The HPRA is an excellent starting point for a successful career in the Medical Device industry, where you will have the opportunityto gain much sought after experience.

**The Role**

The Scientific Officer in this role will work collaboratively with management, team members and other stakeholders to ensure that medical device and IVD issues requiring cross-functional input are effectively investigated and followed up on.

You will undertake a variety of regulatory activities in device assessment throughout the product lifecycle, including the implementation of new medical device regulation and new IVD regulation at national and European levels.

This is a three year fixed term contract, with a strong possibility of that being extended depending on performance.

**The Package**:
The starting salary for this role is €35,359. You will also be able to avail of the Single Public Service Pension Scheme.

This role is based in the HPRA offices in Dublin 2, but you can avail of up to 2 days per week remote working. They also have the advantage of offering a 35 hour work week.

**Requirements**:

- A relevant bachelors degree in Science, Engineering or a related discipline.
- Previous experience working with implants (orthopaedic
- and/or cardiovascular), infusion technologies, emergency care, and respiratory device, and good understanding of the medical device and IVD technologies regulated by the HPRA is a distinct advantage.
