We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Personal Assistant to join our team in supporting an individual within our specialist supported living service who has complex mental health needs and a background in drug/alcohol misuse. Support with day to day activities which includes both tasks in and out of the home. The role involves providing personalised assistance to ensure the individual leads a fulfilling and independent life. Support required is in relation to budgeting daily money, staying safe in the community which will include emotional support and support to maintain a healthy and balanced diet.

Please note: There is a genuine occupational requirement as to why female only applicants are needed, as you will be supporting females.

**Skills**:

- Strong person centred approach
- Resilient (bounce back ability) with the ability to support people with complex Mental Health needs
- Knowledge on supporting individuals with a history of drug/alcohol misuse
- Knowledge of a range of Mental Health conditions and supporting challenging behaviour

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Assist with daily living activities, which may include personal care, meal preparation, financial support and medication management.
- Support the individual in attending appointments and engaging in social and recreational activities.
- Help with household tasks such as cleaning, shopping, and laundry.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of the individual by following care plans and risk assessments.
- Promote independence and encourage the individual to make choices about their care and lifestyle
- Maintain accurate records and communicate effectively with the support team and family members.

**Requirements**:

- Previous mental health experience in a similar role is preferred.
- Previous experience in supporting individuals with a history of drug/alcohol misuse is desired
- A caring and patient attitude with a strong commitment to providing high-quality care.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends if required.
- A valid driver's license - be a confident driver and able to drive manual and automatic cars is desired but not required.
