**Mental Health Peer Support Worker**

**£19,245.23 Actual Annual Salary (£22,452.77 FTE)**

**30 Hours per week**

**Position open until filled.**

The Mental Health Peer Support Worker will use lived experience and knowledge, acquired through their own experiences of mental health issues and care services, to give people facing similar challenges the right level of support and respect.

The Peer Support Worker will offer a supportive, non-judgmental, person-centered approach. The role will centre around working face to face with individuals, talking, listening, and connecting with them to offer hope, encouragement and focus on their mental health and wellbeing needs.

**Main duties include**:

- Representing the voice of lived experience within community organisation including the Rochdale and District Mind team
- Meeting individuals to have initial conversations around mental health issues and wellbeing
- Supporting people who have anxieties around engaging with services, helping people to navigate care and think about their preferences and options
- Facilitating peer-led support groups and promoting peer opportunities within community settings
- Working with individuals to identify and connect with groups, activities and programmes that nay improve their mental health and wellbeing
- People from culturally diverse communities
- Disabled people
- People with diverse sexual orientations and gender identities

**Job Type**: Part-time

**Salary**: £19,245.23 per year
