Position: Positive Behaviour Support Role
Location: Warrington
The Education Network is currently recruiting a Positive Behaviour Support Mentor for an alternative provision academy in Warrington. The school supports children with social, emotional and mental health needs, who have been identified as being at risk of exclusion,harm, or have already been excluded from mainstream education.
The Role:
To address pastoral and academic barriers to learning for a targeted group of individual pupils via small group and 1-1 study sessions in order to enable them to achieve their full potential. Developing and implementing integration packages, pastoral and catch-upinterventions, liaising with families and agencies to enhance access to education.
Duties Include:

- Working with Assistant Head teacher (Personal development) to identify a case load of pupils with barriers that prevent them from attending school.
- To work alongside other members of the pastoral and centre teams to identify trends in behaviour, punctuality and well being.
- Deliver individual and group positive mentoring programmes which provide a range of strategies to support and develop pupil's specific need.
- Contribute to the assessment of pupils and be able to review progress against targets at regular intervals to identify progress.
- Devise and develop a range of alternative strategies to promote behaviour and well-being and address the needs of specific children.
- Lead the development and implementation of individual action plans for targeted pupils who need particular support with behaviour, social interaction and well being.
- To develop a positive relationships with pupils requiring particular support with the aim of addressing points defined in the action plan and engaging them with activities and opportunities.
- Carry out regular home visits to support pupils and families with behaviour and well-being issues and put strategies in place to support.
- Arrange and conduct meetings with family members and agencies designed to support the needs of specific children.
- Maintain records so that up to date and accurate information may be shared with relevant people including any safeguarding issues which may arise and write reports when needed.
- Design and publicise activities to promote mental health and well-being with pupils across the key stages.
- Attend Safeguarding meetings when required.
- Using data, identify early signs of disengagement and contribute to interventions designed to re-engage.
- Work independently with groups of pupils.
- Liaise with teaching staff to provide particular support to targeted pupils to raise achievement and provide support to enable them to overcome barriers to learning.
- Plan and deliver pastoral sessions which support the Personal Development of groups of specified pupils, which link into skills based curriculum.
- Support the development and delivery of SMSC and the development of appropriate curriculums.
- Be proficient with information systems which track behaviour, pastoral and achievement data.
- Liaison with external agencies, such as health professionals and partner schools to support pupils.
- Promote the inclusion and acceptance of all pupils.
